League Rules
2026 Vote Results: Proposals 3, 5, 6, and 7 were approved. Proposals 1, 2, 4, 8, and 9 failed, so kickers stay, the last place punishment stays, the league stays at 10 teams, and no owner was removed.
Effective date: Because these changes were approved after August 1, under Rule 8 they take effect for the 2027 season. The rest of the 2026 season plays out under the prior rules. Amended items are marked below. Rule 7 is a long-standing league rule newly written down here, and is in effect now.

1. Draft Date & Location AmendedEffective 2027
- Date: The draft is always held the weekend before Labor Day.
- Location: The draft may be held anywhere in North America, provided the location is reasonable and offers stable, usable internet.
- Deadlines: Draft location named no later than April 15; draft theme announced by June 1.
- Online conversion: If more than 50% of owners (6 or more of 10) cannot participate in person, the draft becomes an online only draft. This threshold replaces the prior "5 or more owners" standard.
2. Draft Day Event AmendedEffective 2027
- Draft day is a themed event. The theme is selected by the 5th place finisher from the prior season.
- The Draft Committee is the 1st place finisher, the 3rd place finisher, and the Commissioner. If the Commissioner finished 1st or 3rd, that seat is delegated at the Commissioner's discretion.
- Compliance: The Commissioner rules on theme compliance in consultation with the Draft Committee.
- Non-compliance penalty: A $50 fee (equal to 1/4 of dues at the current $200 rate) or forfeiture of the owner's 1st round draft pick. The forfeited pick moved from the 2nd round to the 1st round.
- Penalty funds go to the end of season pot or to in-person draft snacks, as decided by the owners attending the draft in person.
3. Attendance
- An in-person draft is mandatory.
- Non-attendance penalty: A fine of 1/2 of league dues or forfeiture of the first 2 games of the season.
- When the draft moves online under Rule 1, all attendance fees are returned.
- No stacking: Attendance and draft conduct penalties do not stack. An owner who both misses the draft and auto-drafts is assessed a single penalty under Rule 3 or Rule 4, never both.
4. Draft Conduct AmendedEffective 2027
- No absentee auto-drafting. All owners are expected to draft live. An owner who is absent and rides auto-pick forfeits their first 3 rounds and begins auto-drafting at the start of round 4.
- If the draft converts to an online only format under Rule 1, owners drafting live online count as participating and are not penalized.
- No stacking: This penalty does not stack with the Rule 3 attendance penalty. A single penalty applies.
- Draft order: The 2nd place finisher from the prior season selects the mechanism for determining draft order.
5. League Dues
- Dues are required prior to the draft or at the Commissioner's direction, whichever is later.
- Dues for the current season are $200 per owner.
6. Trades NewEffective 2027
- Trades process normally unless an owner objects.
- Any objection triggers a formal review in which the Commissioner gathers input from both the trading teams and the rest of the league before a final decision.
- This replaces any commissioner-only veto authority.
7. Roster Management In Effect Now
- Owners are expected to field a full roster every week.
- Any owner who leaves a roster spot empty is prohibited from using that roster slot for the entirety of the postseason.
- No exceptions. Byes, injuries, and a thin waiver wire do not excuse an empty slot.
- Yahoo does not block roster slots automatically, so the Commissioner tracks and enforces this and notifies the owner when it is triggered.
8. Rule Changes & Voting
- Rule changes approved after August 1 take effect the following season, unless unanimously approved by all voters.
- Rule changes approved after January 1 and before August 1 take effect the same season.
